Part of the Commission's responsibility includes the establishment of a National Identity Database and the harmonization and integration of existing databases in government agencies and institutions.

The objective of this project is to establish a reliable and scalable identity management system which utilizes advanced biometric technology to uniquely and unambiguously identify every registerable person in the country. Access to this database and the emergent digital identity workflow would enable partner agencies streamline their service delivery chain and enhanced performance.

NIMC will partner with these agencies and institutions to achieve this objective of harmornisation and integration of these databases and seamless access to the national identity database. The institutions are:
