COLLECTION OF NATIONAL IDENTITY CARD
At the conclusion of the initial stage of the Identity Card project, the former DNCR launched the distribution of the National Identity Card successfully in 12 States of the Federation. Since NIMC’s take over of the functions of former DNCR and its commencement of full operation, 6 more States have been included in the card distribution. The National Identity Card provides a reliable and unique means of personal identification of Nigerian citizens. Millions of Nigerians have so far are in possession of their cards. Applicants MUST present the detached form slip for collection of the Identity Card. Cards can only be obtained at the NIMC’s office in the Local Government Area where the applicant registered. Applicants would be required to verify his/her identity if collecting without the detached form.
